This Report focuses on locally-led adaptation in the water sector, examining progress and lessons learnt from water adaptation initiatives in East Africa’s drylands.
The report introduces an assessment framework to evaluate how water adaptation projects align with the LLA principles, supplemented with a principle on Nature-based Solutions. The framework is then applied to examine six water adaptation case studies in Kenya and Tanzania.

REPOA was established in 1994 as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) under the name of “Research on Poverty Alleviation Programme Limited” and registered as a company limited by Guarantee not having share capital. In October 2014 the name of the organisation was changed to REPOA Limited in order to reflect its broader mandate without losing the brand name already established.
