Jobs network connect researchers, the academia, career development professionals, and policy makers at large to enhance employment opportunities and workforce development. By facilitating access to vacancies, training, and professional support, these networks promote skills development, career growth, and efficient matching between talent and job opportunities.
A permanent job with a decent salary is an effective way out of poverty. How to boost growth in the labour market should thus be an essential question for policy makers. Existing research and knowledge can help policy makers in choosing the best way forward. In close cooperation with our partners, we have created this platform to highlight important policy challenges and show how research best can be utilised to solve them. The network focuses on three types of policy issues:
Creation of new jobs
* What is the government and donor role in job creation? See some relevant research outputs
* Balanced growth in both urban and rural areas (See some research outputs here
* How can a country secure a balanced transition out of agriculture? See some relevant study outputs

It is within this context (pictured above) while launching the book Policy Innovations for Improved Agricultural Production in Tanzania in May 2026, emerges as a timely and significant contribution to the national and regional discourse on agricultural development – bringing together a diverse range of perspectives, grounded in empirical research and informed by practical experience, to explore how policy innovations can unlock the latent potential of Tanzania’s agricultural sector, including jobs.
Further on the creating new jobs’ discourse, it encompases:
